The first thing to understand is that there are a number of problems that can cause the same malfunctions to your system. So let’s go over a couple that you may encounter.

Are you having a problem with no air blowing in the house and your AC is not running outside? There are a few things you need to check to find the root of the problem. Always make sure that your thermostat is set to cool and that your set point is below the temperature in the room. Secondly, you want to make sure that the furnace or air handler is plugged in. If that’s plugged in, next step is to check your circuit breaker. If all else fails, check and make sure that the batteries in the thermostat are working.

Another problem that may arise is when you have no air blowing in the house, but AC is running outside. An efficient air conditioning unit will take OUT the heated air inside the house. When the unit takes the hot air out, it replaces it with the cold air sifting through the Freon-filled condenser fins. Problems usually occur with the filter just inside the air conditioning unit panel. What happens is the filter gets clogged and the condenser fins on the inside part of the furnace can not breathe, causing it to freeze up. If your filter is not clogged, and you hear the air conditioner running indoors, you need to go through your house and look to see if you have any closed registers. With very little air flow, you will freeze a coil. To correct this problem, you want to turn your AC system off for 24 hours and be sure to contact us.
